OCTOBER 2012  - FIRE SAFETY MONTH

Smoky the Bear and his friend, Ross Walker,  made an appearance at our October Celebration Assembly to talk about fire safety.  Please remind your child to NEVER play with fire and always, always, always tell an adult if they see a fire or see another child playing with fire!  Wise words from Smoky!

Thursday, October 11 – Homecoming Parade – 1:15 p.m.

Elementary students riding on an organizational float (football,

cheerleading, etc.) must be checked out by parent or designated adult/coach

prior to the parade.  Those students may check back into the elementary at

the end of the parade to ride the bus home.

Elementary students wishing to ride a decorated bike or walk their pet in

the parade must be checked out by parent or designated adult and meet at the

arch where they will fall in place with the parade.

Elementary students WILL NOT be released to anyone other than their

parent without written consent from the parent.

Elementary students not riding in the parade will be walking to the High School lawn with their teacher to view the parade.  If your child is not participating in the parade, please do not feel you need to pick your child up and take them to the parade.  Most of our students enjoy going to the parade with their classmates.

Following the parade, our students will return to the elementary and school will be released at that time.  This means our buses will run early on this day.  The approximate time for early release is 1:30 p.m. on this day.
