Teachers Receive Grants from Barnsdall Education Foundation

Two Barnsdall PS teachers are recipients of the Spring Teacher Grant awards presented by the Barnsdall Education Foundation. Both teachers were presented with checks to use to purchase supplies for their projects.
Cecilia Hibdon, Elementary Health/PE teacher, submitted a request for funds to purchase pogo sticks to use in the PE classes. Mrs. Hibdon has worked hard to improve the health/pe program at the elementary and will use the new equipment to supplement her program.
James Patrick, Art teacher, feels it is important for students to draw in the great outdoors. In his grant proposal, "Taking in the Great Outdoors", he wrote that it is sometimes hard to do that in Oklahoma with winds that "sweep down the plains". His grant will be used to purchase portable sketch boards for the Art Department so that students can have a way to secure their papers when drawing outdoors.
